CareSource family of companies launch Foundation

 

DAYTON , Ohio , June 1, 2006 – The CareSource family of companies, a leading public-sector managed care services group based here, today announced the launch of the CareSource Foundation, a new philanthropic organization dedicated to supporting the health care needs of the underserved.

 

In a ceremony at the Old Court House on Courthouse Square, Pamela Morris, president and chief executive officer of CareSource Management Group, introduced the founding principles of the CareSource Foundation.

 

“Today, a dream has become reality,” said Morris.  “Our board members and employees share a passion for continuing the CareSource legacy, to collaboratively seek solutions to some of the more far-reaching health issues facing the communities we serve.”

 

Funding priorities include issues of the uninsured, such as access to public health care, prevention and intervention in community health issues, critical health trends such as childhood obesity and partnerships with regional and national foundations.

 

Cathy Ponitz, director of community relations, has been named executive director of the CareSource Foundation.  In this newly created position, Ponitz will focus on actively seeking, endorsing and engaging the company in opportunities to move the needle on critical health issues.

 

Members of the CareSource Foundation Board of Trustees are:   Chair, J. Thomas Maultsby, Group One Development, LLC, William Marsteller, DC, Centerville Chiropractic; R. Daniel Sadlier, chairman of the board, Fifth Third Bank-Western Ohio; Pamela Sedmak, CFO, CareSource Management Group; Thomas Breitenbach, president and CEO, Premier Health Partners; Morris L. Brown, MD, Dayton Primary and Urgent Care;  Pamela Morris, president and CEO, CareSource Management Group; and RoNita Hawes-Saunders, executive director, the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company.
